Blue Bombers release RB Grigsby
Oct 15, 2014 - 4:44 PM Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released running back Nic Grigsby on Wednesday.Grigsby tweeted moments after the news broke that he asked for his release.
"To all my teammates & fans here in the peg I love and wish you guys nothing but the best. I asked for my release!!" said Grigsby.
Despite leading the CFL with nine touchdowns, Grigsby was benched in favor of Paris Cotton on Monday. Cotton rushed for 31 yards on eight carries in Winnipeg's 41-9 loss to Edmonton.
Grigsby is second in the league with 1,188 yards from scrimmage.
The Blue Bombers have lost six in a row.
