Bombers sign Stoudermire to extension
Nov 14, 2014 - 5:15 PM Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed kick returner Troy Stoudermire to a contract extension through the 2017 season.Stoudermire finished third in combined special teams yards this season with 1,192, despite playing only seven games. His average of nearly 171 special teams yards per game led the CFL.
"From the second I got to Winnipeg I felt good about this team, and this organization," said Stoudermire, who played his first game with the team on Aug. 12. "I was able to show some of my skills returning kicks, and I'm grateful they have asked me to remain here for a while. That definitely goes both ways. As much as they wanted me, I wanted to a remain a Blue Bomber for a long time."
Stoudermire, who set an NCAA record with 3,615 career kickoff return yards while at the University of Minnesota, joined the Bombers after a brief stint with Saskatchewan.
