Tomko inks minor league deal with Reds
Feb 20, 2012 - 12:06 AM Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds have signed pitcher Brett Tomko to a minor league contract, the team announced Sunday.A 14-year major league veteran, Tomko began his career with the Reds in 1997, amassing a 29-26 record with a 4.35 earned run average over three seasons.
Tomko made eight relief appearances with the Rangers in 2011, posting an 0-1 mark with a 4.58 ERA.
In 397 major league games, 266 of which were starts, the 38-year-old righty has recorded 100 wins, 103 losses and a 4.65 ERA. He has pitched for Cincinnati, Seattle, San Diego, St. Louis, San Francisco, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City, the New York Yankees, Oakland and Texas.
