Include Betty heads field for Mother Goose Stakes

Jun 24, 2015 - 7:27 PM Elmont, NY ( - Include Betty, runner-up in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, heads a field of 10 3-year-old fillies in Saturday's $300,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park.

Trained by Tom Proctor for Brereton Jones and Timothy Thornton, Include Betty will start the 1 1/16-mile stakes from post 2 with Drayden Van Dyke again riding. Filly and jockey have finished second both times they've been paired.

Include Betty was 2 3/4 lengths behind Keen Pauline in the Black-Eyed Susan at Pimlico on May 15. Van Dyke was also aboard the chestnut filly when she was second in her career debut last Oct. 11.

Earlier this year, Include Betty won the Suncoast at Tampa Bay Downs followed by a fifth in the Florida Oaks, a win in the Fantasy and an eighth in the Kentucky Oaks. The filly has earned $363,030 in nine career starts.

Trainer Todd Pletcher will saddle Eskenformoney with jockey Javier Castellano leaving from post 9. The filly is owned by StarLadies Racing.

Eskenformoney has two wins from 10 starts for $161,800. She was third in Gulfstream Park's Davona Dale, second in the Gulfstream Oaks and 10th in the Kentucky Oaks.

Wonder Gal, third in Belmont's Acorn, has drawn the far outside post with Rajiv Maragh riding the filly for the first time. Trainer Leah Gyarmati will be saddling Wonder Gal for the seventh time, all in stakes races.

Owned by Treadway Racing Stable, Wonder Gal began her career by winning the Lynbrook Stakes at Belmont last July 6 followed by a third in Saratoga's Adirondack. She was second in the Frizette and third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

This year, Wonder Gal was fourth in the Gazelle before getting third in the Acorn.
