WRST 73, UVA 82Northwestern vs. Virginia: The Virginia Cavaliers pulled away late for a 83-78 win over Chris Collins and Northwestern at the Greenbrier Tip-Off. Thijs De Ridder scored a career-high 26 points on 9-15 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds before fouling out. Chance Mallory fouled out as well, but not before scoring 16 points and bringing down 8 rebounds as well. Malik Thomas added 14 points and Dallin Hall made two huge 3-pointers on his way to 11 points in the win.
NW 78, UVA 83The Virginia Cavaliers jumped out to a big 1st-half lead and then held off the Virginia Tech Hokies for a 73-70 win in this edition of the Commonwealth Cup. Isaac McKneely led the way on offense for the Cavaliers, scoring a team-high 22 points on 6-14 shooting from three-point range while Anthony Robinson added 15 points in the win. Tobi Lawal was his usual "do-everything" self for the Hokies, scoring a game-high 23 points on 7-11 shooting, including 2-2 from three-point range along with 7 rebounds in a losing effort.
