White Sox beat Blue Jays to avoid sweep

With the game knotted 3-3 in the ninth, Dayan Viciedo slapped a one-out single and quickly moved to second on a wild pitch from Francisco Cordero (1-3) before reaching third on Alexei Ramirez's flyout to center field.
Hudson then stepped to the plate, ripping a fastball back up the middle to score Viciedo and salvage the final game of the series for the home team.
"I left the pitch a little bit up and he got a base hit and they won," lamented Cordero. "You just have to make a better pitch."
Addison Reed (1-1) got the win after tossing a scoreless top of the ninth, while Alex Rios smacked a two-run homer and knocked in three runs in the win.
Mike McCoy clubbed a two-run single and Yunel Escobar added two hits and a run scored for Toronto, which had a brief three-game win streak snapped.
The White Sox plated a run in the first, as Adam Dunn reached on a fielder's choice and Paul Konerko singled before Rios ripped a grounder to third that Brett Lawrie couldn't handle. Dunn crossed home to give Chicago a 1-0 lead.
Toronto loaded the bases in the second as David Cooper and Escobar hit consecutive singles to start the frame before J.P. Arencibia coaxed a walk.
After Omar Vizquel fanned, McCoy ripped a one-hopper that deflected off Hudson at third and shot into left, allowing Cooper and Escobar to score and put the Jays up 2-1.
Lawrie then grounded softly to shortstop, but Ramirez's flip to Gordon Beckham at second was wild and Arencibia raced home from third to make it a two-run margin.
Chicago pulled even in the sixth as Konerko ripped a one-out single and Rios followed with his sixth of the season over the wall in left to knot the game at 3-3.
"It could have gotten ugly early and the boys could have tucked their tails and called it a day early but we didn't," remarked Chicago starter Jake Peavy. "Great team win and I'm honored to be a part of this bunch."
Game Notes
Toronto starter Henderson Alvarez allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over seven frames...Peavy surrendered three runs -- two earned -- on four hits and five walks in six innings...Konerko returned from a three-game absence and went 2-for-3 with a run scored as a designated hitter.
