Santana, Indians top Rangers, snap 6-game skid

Cleveland starter Jeanmar Gomez (5-7) gave up four hits, including solo home runs by David Murphy and Adrian Beltre, walked two and struck out five in 5 2/3 innings.
"Gomez threw the ball well," Indians manager Manny Acta said of his starter. "He pitched ahead for the most part."
Vinnie Pestano pitched out of a first-and-third jam in the eighth and worked around a one-out single in the ninth to notch his first save of the season.
Scott Feldman (6-11) recovered from a rough first inning to pitch six frames for Texas.
"It was a nightmare first inning there," Feldman said. "They came out swinging and seemed like everything I threw up there they were swinging at and they got some hits."
Murphy led off the third with a drive to right and scored on a Mitch Moreland sacrifice fly in the fifth. A two-out shot by Beltre trimmed Texas' deficit to 4-3 in the sixth.
Earlier, the Indians wasted little time jumping on Feldman. Shin-Soo Choo worked a leadoff walk and Jason Kipnis doubled before Santana stroked a base hit to left field.
Michael Brantley and Russ Canzler also singled, loading the bases before an out had been recorded. Casey Kotchman and Jack Hannahan both plated a run with groundouts.
Game Notes
Gomez started in place of Roberto Hernandez, who sprained his ankle in his last outing ... Feldman absorbed his fifth straight loss ... Beltre collected three hits.
