Norris helps Orioles beat Indians
Jun 7, 2015 - 11:09 PM Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Bud Norris tossed five solid innings in his return from the disabled list, helping the Baltimore Orioles beat the Cleveland Indians 7-3 in the rubber match of a three-game series.Norris (2-4) took the mound for the first time since May 10 due to a bout with bronchitis. He allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
"It felt great to just get back out there and play," Norris said.
Matt Wieters and Adam Jones hit solo homers for the Orioles, who went 3-4 on a seven-game road trip. Travis Snider had two RBI.
Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco (7-5), who had won his previous three outings, gave up five runs on seven hits over four-plus innings.
"This game is sometimes up and down," Carrasco said. "You learn from today to take it to your next start."
Jones hit a solo homer in the first.
The Orioles tacked on three more runs in the fourth. With two outs, Jimmy Paredes and J.J. Hardy hit back-to-back singles before Ryan Flaherty walked to load the bases. Paredes raced home on Manny Machado's infield single, and Snider followed with a two-run single to center.
Cleveland got one run back in the bottom half when David Murphy and Brandon Moss hit consecutive doubles.
Baltimore scored once in the fifth to make it 5-1. Wieters led off with a triple and crossed the plate on Chris Davis' sacrifice fly.
Each team plated a run in the seventh. Paredes hit an RBI single in the top half, while pinch-hitter Ryan Raburn grounded out with the bases loaded in the bottom half.
Wieters hit a solo homer in the ninth to make it a 7-2 game. Raburn responded with an RBI single in the home half to account for the final margin.

Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis went 3-for-5 and has now hit safely in 18 consecutive home games ... Norris improved to 3-0 lifetime against Cleveland ... The Orioles optioned infielder Rey Navarro to Triple-A Norfolk to clear a spot for Norris on the roster ... The Indians went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10.
