Orioles-White Sox rained out
Apr 26, 2008 - 3:20 AM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Friday's contest between the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox was postponed due to rain. The game has been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday.
The Orioles and White Sox did manage to get Friday's game started but could not get through the first inning before the rains came. After remaining in the delay for approximately 2 1/2 hours, the game was postponed.
Due to the rainout, Nick Masset (0-0, 3.75 ERA) will be forced to make his first start of the season for Chicago. The 25-year-old righthander has yielded five runs and six walks with 11 strikeouts over 12 innings in five relief appearances this campaign.
In search of his third straight win, John Danks (2-1, 3.04) will take the mound for the White Sox in the nightcap.
Brian Burres (2-1, 3.57) and Steve Trachsel (1-3, 5.23) will get the starts Saturday for Baltimore, which is seeking its third consecutive victory.
Burres, who will pitch in the first game, is coming off an impressive outing. He tossed 5 2/3 scoreless frames in a 6-0 triumph over the New York Yankees last Saturday, allowing five hits and four walks while striking out two.
