Angels get to Danks early, top White Sox

May 11, 2011 - 5:28 AM Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Alberto Callaspo drove in three runs and Maicer Izturis had a solo home run in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's 6-2 win over the Chicago White Sox that evened up a three-game series

Howard Kendrick had a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Angels, who have won five of their last seven contests.

Joel Pineiro (2-0) got the win in 7 2/3 innings and allowed just two runs on eight hits. He also struck out five batters.

"They came out aggressive and I had a lot of early pitch count outs," Pineiro said. "It's good to be back out here."

Paul Konerko had a solo shot for the White Sox, who had a three-game win streak snapped.

Chicago starter John Danks (0-6) is still in search for his first win of the season after getting roughed up for 10 hits and six runs in five innings.

"Today John didn't bring much stuff," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "He just had a bad game. He got hit pretty good."

The Angels responded from Monday's 8-0 shutout to the White Sox with a three- run first inning. Torii Hunter brought home Bobby Abreu with a single to center. Kendrick's groundout put runners on second and third with two down. Callaspo then hit a single up the middle to score both Izturis and Hunter.

The White Sox got a run back on Paul Konerko's home run that started the second.

But in the third, Anaheim posted two more runs thanks to Izturis' solo shot and Callaspo's RBI single for a 5-1 lead. Kendrick knocked in Hunter with a double into left field in the fifth to add onto the Angels' lead.

The Sox scored once more on Adam Dunn's RBI double in the sixth to make up the final score.
