Roy Halladay goes for fifth win against Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- Roy Halladay will match up with Vicente Padilla for the second time in five days when the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Texas Rangers on Saturday.

Halladay (4-0, 2.28 ERA) got the better of the Rangers last Monday, tossing a complete game as the Blue Jays won 6-1 in just two hours and two minutes.

The righthander, who turns 30 on May 14, yielded five hits and one run while striking out eight and not issuing a walk.

Padilla took the loss in that game, surrendering a season-high three homers over seven innings. The 29-year-old righthander has yet to earn a win after signing a three-year, $33.75 million extension with Texas in the offseason.

The hitters haven't been a huge help to the righthander, managing just 10 runs while he's been in the game.

The pitching has been the problem all season for the Rangers, as they will come into the game with a team ERA of 5.22 - 29th in the major leagues.

However, Brandon McCarthy turned in a strong performance last Friday as Texas downed the Blue Jays 7-1, snapping a five-game skid.
