In the 10th with Clayton Mortensen (2-4) on the mound, Alexei Ramirez led off with a double off the top of the wall in left. A.J. Pierzynski followed with a single and Gordon Beckham then reached base when his bunt was misplayed by Mortensen.
Paul Konerko hit a chopper back to third that saw Ramirez forced out at home, but Pierre followed with a long single off the scoreboard in right to bring home two runs for a 6-4 lead.
"I got the count to 2-0 and knew the bases were loaded so I said to myself I'll take one and then he repeated the same pitch," said Pierre. "I got a good swing on it and was able to drive a couple in."
Sergio Santos then set down the Rockies in order in the bottom of the inning for his 17th save of the season.
Beckham went 3-for-3 with a solo homer, two RBI and two runs schored while Pierzynski was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for the White Sox, who took the final two games of the set.
Jesse Crain (4-2) got the win for recording the final two outs of the ninth while starter Jake Peavy gave up four runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts over six innings.
Troy Tulowitzki hit a three-run home run and Matt Pagnozzi drove in the other run for the Rockies, who have dropped five of six. Aaron Cook was charged with just one run on five hits over six innings.
"It's been hard to put our finger on what's wrong cause one day it's the one thing and one day it's the next," said Colorado first baseman Todd Helton, who appeared in the 2,000th game of his career. "Good ball teams put it together day after day and we haven't done that yet."
Colorado jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. With one out, Jonathan Herrera singled and Helton followed with a basehit. Tulowitzki then stepped to the plate and on the 12th pitch of the at-bat he slammed it over the wall in center for his 15th home run of the season.
Chicago got one back in the second. Alex Rios led off with a walk and Ramirez was later hit by a pitch. After Ramon Castro flied out for the second out of the inning, Beckham walked to load the bases and a wild pitch from Cook with Peavy at the plate scored Rios.
The sixth saw the Rockies work across another run. With one out, Seth Smith doubled and Ty Wigginton followed with a groundout. After Charlie Blackmon was issued an intentional walk, Pagnozzi singled to center for a 4-1 lead.
The White Sox had men on base in each inning after the second, but were unable to get any across until the seventh when Beckham led off the frame with a shot over the wall in right-center.
Chicago tied the game in the eighth off of Matt Lindstrom. With one out, Ramirez and Pierzynski hit consecutive singles. Beckham then followed with a single to score Ramirez and Pierzynski later crossed the plate on a sac fly from Pierre to tie the game.
