Hudson returns from DL to face Brewers

May 27, 2012 - 2:46 PM (Sports Network) - Daniel Hudson returns from the disabled list this afternoon when the Arizona Diamondbacks go for a series win against the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field.

Arizona won its first home series of the season, but has lost all six since. The D'Backs put themselves into position to win another set in front of their fans on Saturday, as John McDonald's three-run homer keyed a five-run third inning, helping Arizona to an 8-5 win.

Gerardo Parra tied a career-high with four hits and scored twice for the Diamondbacks, who beat Milwaukee for only the sixth time in their last 20 home games against them.

Wade Miley (6-1) surrendered eight hits and five runs -- three earned -- over six innings to win his third straight start. The rookie left-hander also picked up a pair of hits, including a double.

Parra topped off his great night by racing back to make a catch in deep center field on a ball hit by Norichika Aoki in the ninth inning. J.J. Putz had a 1-2-3 final inning and notched his 10th save of the year.

Cody Ransom hit a two-run double for the Brewers, who lost for the seventh time in 10 contests.

Zack Greinke (5-2) was shelled for 10 hits and seven runs over 2 1/3 innings and suffered his first loss since April 12. He was 4-0 over his previous seven starts.

Hudson, meanwhile, returns today from a right shoulder impingement that has kept him out of action since a loss to Pittsburgh on April 18. A 16-game winner last season, Hudson is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA in three starts this year.

In two starts against the Brewers Hudson has gone 1-0 with a 5.73 ERA.

Milwaukee will counter with veteran lefty Randy Wolf, who is 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA. Wolf did not get a decision on Monday against San Francisco, as he allowed three runs and five hits in seven innings of a 4-3 loss.

He has faced the D'Backs 20 times and is 10-5 with a 4.64 ERA.

Arizona, which was 4-3 in the regular season a year ago against the Brewers, hasn't won a home series from Milwaukee since July of 2006.
