Livingston, Reds hope to even series vs. Marlins

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds hope the next start by rookie Bobby Livingston is as good as his last.

Livingston and the Reds aim to rebound from their first loss in five games when they face the Florida Marlins on Saturday.

Cincinnati was beaten, 10-2, by Florida on Friday to have a season high-tying four-game winning streak snapped.

The Reds turn to Livingston (2-0, 3.18 ERA) to win the third game of a four-game series vs. the Marlins.

Livingston, in just his third career start, held the Atlanta Braves to two runs and eight hits in five innings of a 10-3 victory on Monday. Livingston helped his own cause in that game, going 4-for-4 with an RBI. He had just been called up that day from Class AAA Louisville.

The Marlins counter with Byung-Hyun Kim (4-5, 5.18), who saw his record drop under .500 when he surrendered five runs, eight hits and a season-high seven walks in a 5-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday.

Kim is also seeking his first home win for Florida. The South Korean righthander is 0-3 with a 6.47 ERA in six starts at Dolphin Stadium. The Marlins have dropped four of his last five starts.
