Holliday looking to extend Marlins woes
Aug 1, 2007 - 1:30 PM Colorado (54-51) at Florida (49-58) 7:05 pm EDTMIAMI (Ticker) -- Matt Holliday will look to continue his recent success when the Colorado Rockies square off against the Florida Marlins on Wednesday in the second of a three-game series.
Holliday is batting .414 (12-for-29) with four home runs and 10 RBI in his previous eight games. The All-Star righthanded slugger has posted a .336 batting average with 20 homers and 84 RBI in 2007.
Josh Fogg (5-6, 4.84 ERA) will start for the Rockies, who have won three straight games.
The 30-year-old Fogg has not lost in his last three starts, posting a 2-0 record with a 2.84 ERA in that span. He allowed three hits over six scoreless innings in his last outing, a 3-0 loss at the Washington Nationals.
He will be opposed by Byung-Hyun Kim (5-5, 4.27), who gave up just one hit over five innings in his last start. The South Korean lefthander did yield two runs and six walks in a 7-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.
The Marlins have lost seven of their last eight contests, surrendering 54 runs over that stretch.
