Cubs look to keep pressure on the Brewers

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Cubs have been one the best teams in the National League over the last two months, putting themselves in position to join the Milwaukee Brewers atop the NL Central.

The Cubs will look to keep the pressure on the Brewers when they host the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.

Chicago evened the series against Philadelphia with a 7-3 win on Tuesday to remain one game behind the Milwaukee Brewers (58-49) in the Central. The Phillies are no strangers to a division race themselves, sitting three games behind the New York Mets (59-47) in the NL East.

Rich Hill (6-6, 3.59 ERA) gets the start for Chicago, coming off three straight solid outings. The 27-year-old lefthander has allowed two runs or less in each of his last three outings, going 1-0 over that span.

Countering for the Phillies will be a pitcher almost a generation older than Hill, Jamie Moyer (9-8, 4.75). The 44-year-old lefthander has won his last two starts and owns a 2-0 career mark with a 2.84 ERA in three career starts against the Cubs.

Philadelphia had a four-game winning streak with Tuesday's setback.
