Twins hope to keep rolling

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins will look to build off Johan Santana's record-setting performance on Sunday when they host the Seattle Mariners in the opener of a three-game series Monday.

Santana pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits with no walks and a franchise-record 17 strikeouts in Sunday's 1-0 triumph over the Texas Rangers.

Matt Garza (2-3, 2.05 ERA) will take the mound for the Twins, who have won four of their last five contests.

The 23-year-old righthander registered his first win since July 6 in his last start, a 11-3 victory over the Mariners on Tuesday. Garza yielded three runs and nine hits over seven frames.

Seattle, which is looking for a fourth straight win, will counter with lefthander Horacio Ramirez (7-4, 7.38). The five-year veteran will try to put an end to his road woes, posting a 1-3 record with a 13.50 ERA away from Safeco Field.

Jose Guillen has a hit in 11 of his last 13 games, going 19-for-43 (.442) with four home runs and 14 RBI over that stretch.
