Marcum, Blue Jays aim to take series from Orioles

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Shaun Marcum looks to get back to his earlier excellent effort.

Marcum and the Toronto Blue Jays look to take the rubber match of their three-game set against the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.

Roy Halladay gained his 15th win and Frank Thomas hit his 22nd homer in a six-run first as Toronto cruised past Baltimore, 8-3, on Saturday. After losing five straight, the Blue Jays have won two of three.

Toronto which reached the .500 mark with the win, hands the ball to Marcum (12-6, 4.11 ERA), who seeks to regain his early season sizzle.

The righthander started 2007 with a 9-2 record in his first 18 starts, but is just 2-2 with a 8.49 ERA in his last five outings. He is averaging just 4 2/3 innings per start in that span.

Tthe Orioles, losers of 19 of 24 games, turn to Victor Santos (1-5, 5.75), who hopes his second start of the season is better than his first.

The 30-year-old righthander had his initial rotation start last Tuesday, and was shelled for five runs and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings in a 10-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
