Maddux seeks 349th career win

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Greg Maddux looks to add another win to his already Hall of Fame career when the San Diego Padres meet the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

A four-time Cy Young Award winner, Maddux (1-0, 2.77 ERA) takes the mound in search of career win No. 349 as the Padres try to take the rubber game of this three-game series.

The veteran righthander went seven solid inning, allowing one run and three hits with five strikeouts in an 8-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Monday. He retired 19 of the final 20 batters he faced.

Chad Billingsley (0-1, 9.64) counters for the Dodgers after getting touched for five runs on five hits in 2 1/3 innings during a 10-5 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Billingsley may have struggled in his last outing, but he's been tough against the Padres. The righthander is 4-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 10 lifetime appearances against San Diego.

Andre Ethier finished a triple shy of the cycle and drove two runs as Los Angeles coasted to an 11-1 victory over San Diego on Saturday.
