Cueto returns after suffering first loss

CINCINNATI (Ticker) - Cincinnati Reds' rookie phenom Johnny Cueto looks to rebound from his first career loss on Saturday in the middle game of a three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The 22-year-old righthander had allowed just three runs and six hits, while striking out 18 in his first 13 1/3 innings prior to a 9-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.

Cueto (1-1, 3.72 ERA) allowed five runs and five hits in six innnings and issued his first walk of the season.

He faces a Brewers team that posted a 5-2 victory on Friday, despite losing ace Ben Sheets. The righthander threw five scoreless innings before leaving with tightness in his right triceps.

Bill Hall hit a two-run homer and Prince Fielder drove in a run for Milwaukee, which has won two straight.

Jeff Suppan (1-0, 4.67) gets the ball for the Brewers. Suppan was rocked for six runs and nine hits in four innings of a 9-7 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday.
