Hendrickson eyes fifth straight win
Apr 26, 2008 - 1:38 PM Florida (14-9) at Milwaukee (13-10) 7:05 pm EDTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) - Mark Hendrickson seeks his fifth straight win when the Florida Marlins meet the Milwaukee Brewers in the second of three-game weekend games at Miller Park.
After two mostly disappointing seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hendrickson (4-1, 3.82 ERA) has been a revelation atop Florida's rotation. The 6-9 lefthander permitted four runs - three earned - and eight hits over a season-high eight innings in Monday's 10-4 win over Pittsburgh.
Hendrickson already has matched his win total from last season.
In Friday's series opener, Florida scored three times in the 10th inning for a 3-0 victory.
Milwaukee will start Carlos Villanueva (1-2, 5.09), who is hoping to build on his best outing of the year. The righthander was very solid over seven frames on Monday but did not factor in the decision in a 4-3 loss to St. Louis after allowing two runs and three hits.
