Brewers looking to end road woes vs. Nationals
May 25, 2008 - 3:23 PM Milwaukee (23-26) at Washington (21-29) 1:35 pm EDTWASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers complete their four-game road series against the Washington Nationals on Sunday.
The Brewers' problems away from home have been a major factor in the club's struggles this season. They are just 12-17 on the road, which has relegated them to fourth in the National League Central.
Corey Hart is one of the few Brewers who have not struggled away from Miller Field. He leads Milwaukee with a .300 road batting average and has hit all five of his home runs away from home.
The 26-year-old Hart blasted a two-run shot Saturday, helping the Brewers record a 5-2 victory.
Washington starter Tim Redding (6-3, 3.16 ERA) is seeking his third straight win in as many starts.
Redding tossed 6 1/3 scoreless frames, yielding seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in Monday's 4-0 triumph over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The righthander will be opposed by rookie Manny Parra (2-2, 4.40), who is coming off his most successful start of his career.
The lefthander pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings in a 7-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, allowing four hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
