White Sox seek second win over Lackey

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim turn to John Lackey on Sunday as they look to complete a three-game sweep of the Chicago White Sox.

In his last outing against Chicago, Lackey tossed a solid seven innings effort in Anaheim on May 14. However, he did not factor into the decision as Carlos Quentin's grand slam keyed Chicago's 6-1 win. The victory started a seven-game winning streak for the White Sox that ended on Friday.

Jered Weaver allowed just three hits over eight innings on Saturday in the Angels' 3-1 win.

With another victory on Sunday, Anaheim will complete its first sweep of Chicago since winning three games at U.S. Cellular Field from September 9-11, 2005.

Lackey was sharp again on Tuesday at Toronto, yielding one run over seven innings while striking out six in a 3-1 triumph.

The Angels' ace will get another shot at collecting a win at the expense of Jose Contreras (5-3, 3.17), who opposed him 11 days ago.

Contreras, who recorded the win in that contest, is in the midst of a three-start winning streak - something he hasn't done since winning five straight outings from April 12-May 4, 2006.

Contreras allowed one run and four hits over six frames in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Cleveland - the fifth time in his last seven starts that he has yielded just one run.
