Yankees aim for sixth straight win
May 26, 2008 - 1:18 PM NY Yankees (25-25) at Baltimore (24-25) 1:35 pm EDTBALTIMORE (Ticker) - The New York Yankees look to continue their winning ways when they visit the Baltimore Orioles in the opener of a three-game series Monday.
The Yankees have won five straight games and finished up a successful homestand with a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. New York scored four runs in the eighth with Jose Molina delivering the go-ahead RBI double.
Darrell Rasner (3-0, 1.89 ERA) is coming off his best start of the season and hopes to stay unbeaten so far this year when he takes the hill.
The 27-year-old righthander started the Yankees winning streak with seven scoreless innings to lead New York to an 8-0 victory over Baltimore on Wednesday.
The Orioles return home losers of five straight games and have scored only nine runs over that span. Baltimore was swept in a three-game series at Tampa Bay over the weekend.
Lefthander Garrett Olson (3-1, 5.19) was knocked around in his last start, surrendering six runs in just 2 2/3 innings against New York on Wednesday.
Alex Rodriguez homered off Olson last Wednesday. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles in the victory.
