Cubs eye sixth straight win

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Cubs can attribute some of their major league-best home success recently to the fact they are never out of a game, no matter the score.

The Cubs target their sixth straight win on Saturday when they continue their four-game set with the Colorado Rockies.

After recording comeback victories in each game of its three-game sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the week, Chicago turned one of the most impressive rallies in some time in its series-opening 10-9 win over Colorado.

Trailing by eight runs at two different points of the game, the Cubs scored nine runs combined in the sixth and seventh innings for their fourth straight come-from-behind victory. The win improved their record at Wrigley Field to 24-8, the best home mark in the majors.

Ryan Dempster (6-2, 2.56 ERA) will attempt to remain unbeaten at home when he takes the mound on Saturday. The righthander improved to 6-0 with a 2.84 ERA at Wrigley after yielding a run and seven hits over seven frames in a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.

The Rockies, who are winless midway through their current 10-game road trip, will turn to Glendon Rusch (1-2, 6.41), who will be making his first start since 2006 after sitting out last season with a blood clot in his lung.

This will be the lefthander's first appearance with the Rockies after he was released by San Diego on May 12, only to be signed to a minor league contract by Colorado five days later.
