Braves attempt to maintain recent success vs. Marlins

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Close games have been far from enjoyable for the Atlanta Braves. However, with a pair of tight wins over the last two contests against the Florida Marlins, their outlook on them may be changing.

The Braves attempt to secure a series win on Wednesday when they continue their four-game set against the Marlins.

While Atlanta improved to 7-0 in games decided by two runs with Monday's series-opening 7-5, 10-inning win over Florida, one-run games had caused a great deal of unrest.

On Tuesday, the Braves rallied for a 5-4 victory - just the third time in 19 games that the club has won a contest decided by one run.

The Braves will turn to Tom Glavine (2-2, 4.56 ERA), who will face the Marlins for the first time since he lasted just one-third of an inning in the final game of the New York Mets' 2007 season. The veteran allowed seven runs in New York's 8-1 season-ending loss, which allowed Philadelphia to win the National League East by one game.

His last start was far less dramatic, but the final result was the same as the lefthander permitted two runs and five hits over six innings in a 3-2, 11-inning loss to Cincinnati.

Florida will counter with Mark Hendrickson (7-3, 5.27), who will look to rebound from one of the worst starts of his career. The lefthander surrendered 10 runs and seven hits with three walks over a season-low 3 2/3 innings in a 12-3 loss to Philadelphia on Friday.
