Yankees look to build on dramatic win

BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- NEW YORK (Ticker) -- With Jorge Posada back in the lineup, the New York Yankees are poised to build on the momentum of their biggest comeback of the season.

The Yankees try to stay red-hot at home when they open a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals on Friday.

Posada went 1-for-3 on Thursday in his first start since going on the disabled list with a right shoulder injury on April 29.

Posada's return was overshadowed by Jason Giambi's walk-off home run - a two-run blast with two outs in the ninth inning that gave New York a 9-8 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. It was the Yankees eighth win in their last nine games in the Bronx.

New York should have little trouble continuing their winning ways against the Royals, who have lost 11 straight on the road and five in a row at Yankees Stadium.

Kyle Davies (1-0, 1.80 ERA) hopes to end Kansas City's drought when he takes the mound on Friday. The 24-year-old righthander will be opposed by Yankees' starter Darrell Rasner (3-2, 2.67), who is looking to bounce back after suffering two losses in as many starts.
