Damon, Yankees look for two straight vs. Royals

BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Johnny Damon is helping the New York Yankees remain afloat.

Damon and the Yankees aim for their fourth win in five games when they square off again with the Kansas City Royals on Sunday.

New York rallied to defeat Kansas City, 12-11, on Saturday when Damon drove in his fourth run of the game with a hit in the bottom of the ninth. It was Damon's sixth hit in six at-bats to even this four-game series at a game apiece.

After his perfect day at the plate, Damon is hitting .565 (26-for-46) with 11 RBI in his last 11 games to push the Bronx Bombers back to .500.

The Yankees send Joba Chamberlain (1-2, 2.42 ERA) to the mound hoping for a better outing in his second start of his career. The former setup man gave up two runs, a hit and four walks in 2 1/3 frames in a 9-3 loss to Toronto on Tuesday. The 22-year-old righthander, who will once again be on a strict pitch count, went 62 pitches vs. the Blue Jays before being pulled.

The Royals counter with Zack Greinke (5-3, 3.56), who has been a woeful 0-2 with an 8.05 ERA in his last three outings. The righthander did collect a win vs. New York on April 8.

Kansas City is 3-2 against New York in 2008.
