Santana looks to lead Angels to ninth straight win

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Ervin Santana may have solved his road woes.

The righthander takes the hill as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim seek to complete a three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.

Santana (8-2, 3.02 ERA) has long been an enigma due to his sparkling home mark and his terrible record away from Angels Stadium. The righthander went 1-10 with an 8.38 ERA on the road last season, as opposed to 6-4 with a 3.27 ERA at home.

However, he has turned it around this season and will try and help the Angels to a ninth straight win. Santana, who is aiming for a third straight victory, is 5-1 with a 3.59 ERA on the road this season. On Sunday, Santana allowed two runs and six hits in 7 2/3 innings of a 4-2 victory at Seattle.

Facing the A's anywhere has been good news for Santana, as he is 8-1 with a 1.27 ERA in 10 starts against them.

Meanwhile, Oakland turns to Rich Harden to help it avoid being swept.

Harden (3-0, 2.51) allowed two runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings, but did not factor into the decision in a 3-2 win over Detroit on Monday.
