Marlins may be without Uggla for finale vs. Diamondbacks

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Florida Marlins will hope to bounce back from a loss and they may have to do it without second baseman Dan Uggla when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Uggla left Saturday's 6-2 loss in the fifth inning with a left ankle sprain. Uggla, who leads the Marlins with 23 home runs and 58 RBI this season, singled in the fourth but came up limping after he rounded first base. X-rays were negative.

"He's going to be day-to-day," Florida manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "He sprained it pretty good and I don't expect him to play on Sunday."

Chris Young drove in three runs and Mark Reynolds knocked in a pair for the Diamondbacks, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Arizona starter Dan Haren (8-4, 3.04 ERA) is looking to win his fourth straight decision. The righthander tossed seven scoreless innings, yielding just two hits and a walk with five strikeouts in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

The Marlins will send lefthander Scott Olsen (4-4, 3.44) to the hill. The 24-year-old has not recorded a win since May 6, suffering three losses and seeing his ERA rise from 2.22 during that span.
