Danks looks to help White Sox sweep Orioles

BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- The Chicago White Sox aim for their first road sweep of the Baltimore Orioles in more than three years on Wednesday.

Orlando Cabrera had four hits and two RBI and the White Sox recorded seven doubles in an 8-3 victory on Tuesday. Chicago, which leads Minnesota (74-58) by two games in the American League Central, is a season-high 20 games over .500.

Much of its success can be attributed to solid starting pitching. Clayton Richard shut down the Orioles in a 4-3 win on Monday, and Gavin Floyd tossed eight dominant innings the following night.

Overall, the White Sox are 10th in baseball with a 4.01 ERA.

John Danks (10-6, 3.18 ERA) , who has the fifth-lowest ERA in the AL, has been a key cog in Chicago's rotation. The lefthander is 2-2 with a 2.42 ERA over his last four starts and went 12 starts without a loss from June 4 - August 6.

In his lone start against the Orioles this season, Danks allowed two runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings of a 5-1 loss on April 26. He will try and help the White Sox to their first sweep at Camden Yards since a four-game sweep from July 29 - August 1, 2005.

Baltimore, which has lost five straight, sends rookie Radhames Liz (4-3, 7.32) to the hill. Liz allowed three runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings, but did not receive a decision in a 9-4 loss to New York on Friday. The 25-year-old righthander 2-2 with a 6.47 ERA in six home starts.
