Red Sox cruise to exhibition victory over Northeastern
Feb 28, 2009 - 10:05 PM FORT MYERS, Florida (Ticker) -- Angel Chavez hit two home runs and drove in six runs as the Boston Red Sox cruised to a 14-0 victory over Northeastern University on Saturday.The third baseman is receiving an increase in playing time this spring, as Mike Lowell rehabs from offseason hip surgery.
Jed Lowrie drove in three runs, Jacoby Ellsbury tripled and Josh Bard hit a solo home run to help pace the Red Sox offense.
Junichi Tazawa was impressive out of the bullpen, striking out four in two hitless innings.
