Pistons beat Cavaliers to end skid

Dec 6, 2010 - 8:03 AM Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - The trio of Richard Hamilton, Rodney Stuckey and Tayshaun Prince combined for 71 points, carrying the Pistons past the struggling Cavaliers, 102-92.

Hamilton led the way with 27 points, Stuckey scored 24 to go with 11 assists, and Prince netted 20 for Detroit, which had lost four straight coming in.

Antawn Jamison had a team-high 22 points for Cleveland, which has been outscored by a whopping 91 points during a four-game skid.

"I'm obviously not happy about the loss, but I am a little bit happier because I thought our guys competed tonight," said Cavs head coach Byron Scott.

Detroit broke open a tie behind an 11-0 run that Hamilton started with a layup and ended with a three-pointer for a 66-55 lead midway through the third.

The Cavs never posed a serious threat from there. They trailed 78-67 heading to the fourth and found themselves down as many as 18 in the final frame.

Hamilton again bookended a pivotal 8-2 spurt with a pair of jumpers for a 93-75 cushion near the six-minute mark, and the closest the visitors got was the final score.

There were nine lead changes in the first quarter, which ended with the Cavs scoring the final eight points for a 24-19 advantage.

It stayed tight in the second, and Stuckey's 13 points in the frame helped the Detroit take a 51-46 lead into the locker room.
