Knicks top Bobcats

Jan 25, 2012 - 4:22 AM Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Carmelo Anthony's recent offensive struggles hit an all-time low Tuesday, but Tyson Chandler had 20 points and 17 rebounds to help New York snap its six-game losing streak with a 111-78 rout of the Charlotte Bobcats.

Anthony scored a career-low one point on 0-of-7 shooting from the field, but did help out in other areas by pulling down 11 rebounds. Anthony -- who's been hampered by a sprained ankle and a hurt non-shooting wrist -- came into Tuesday's contest shooting just 33.3 percent over his last four games.

"I'm sure his wrist is bothering him, but he contributed 11 rebounds and spaced the floor and let other guys do what they do," Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni said.

Amare Stoudemire added 18 points and eight rebounds while Landry Fields poured in 18 points for the Knicks, who outrebounded Charlotte 53-33.

"When Carmelo Anthony goes 0-for-7, c'mon you know, we should at least be in the game," Charlotte head coach Paul Silas said.

Kemba Walker netted 22 points to lead the Bobcats, who have lost five straight and 11-of-12.

Fields had six of the first eight New York points as the Knicks jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead, but a 9-2 spurt by the Bobcats made it a 10-9 game midway through the opening quarter.

The Knicks led, 26-23, after one. Fields and Chandler had eight points apiece in the opening 12 minutes.

Chandler had a monster first half with 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting and nine rebounds -- six of them offensive boards -- as New York took a 52-42 advantage into the locker room.

Anthony was held scoreless in the opening half for just the fifth time in his career. He attempted just five shots.

Chandler's putback dunk capped an 11-4 burst and gave the Knicks a 72-50 lead with 1:28 left in the third.

New York took a 73-57 advantage into the final quarter and led by as many as 33 in the fourth before cruising to the easy win.
