Nets pull away in 4th to beat Sixers
Dec 13, 2014 - 4:43 AM Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Mason Plumlee had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets pulled away in the fourth quarter to take down the Philadelphia 76ers 88-70 on Friday night.The Nets outscored the Sixers 25-10 in the final frame.
Alan Anderson posted 12 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Joe Johnson added 12 points for Brooklyn, which snapped a three-game losing streak.
"We were more active. Lots of deflections, lots of steals," Nets guard Deron Williams said.
Robert Covington tallied 20 points and six boards for the Sixers, who are 2-3 on the heels of their 0-17 start to the season.
"They just made adjustments and hit shots and their veteran players stepped up," Sixers guard Michael Carter-Williams said.
Brooklyn was up 63-60 after three before netting the first 10 points of the fourth to seize control. Anderson's reverse capped the surge and staked the Nets to a 73-60 advantage.
Philadelphia never cut the gap below eight the rest of the way.
The Nets used a 6-0 spurt late in the first quarter to create some distance and take a 22-16 advantage before heading into the second with a 22-18 edge.
Philadelphia, though, outscored them 27-22 in the second and took a 45-44 edge heading into the locker room.

Brooklyn had 25 points off 24 turnovers. Philadelphia fell to 0-8 this season when giving the ball away 20-plus times ... Sixers guard Tony Wroten returned from a six-game absence due to a knee injury. He had 12 points on 2-of-10 shooting ... Brooklyn had dropped five of its last six at home coming in.
