Balanced attack leads Brooklyn over Denver

Feb 24, 2015 - 6:21 AM Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Brook Lopez had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead a balanced Brooklyn effort as the Nets grabbed a 110-82 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Seven players finished in double digits for the Nets, with Deron Williams providing 16 points and 12 assists. Thaddeus Young added 15 points and five boards while Mason Plumlee finished with 14.

"All the guys were playing together tonight," said Plumlee. "We were just feeding off each others energy and that gave everyone a boost out there tonight."

Markel Brown gave 10 points, 11 boards and four blocks in his first career start for Brooklyn, which has won its past two.

"It's like we aren't all on the same page," said Denver guard Ty Lawson. "It's tough and we have to have a good practice, get the coverages down and get the plays down and play better."

Danilo Gallinari had 22 points while Will Barton added 15 points for the Nuggets, who have lost their past three.

Brooklyn took a 26-23 lead into the second quarter, but Denver had rallied to tie the game with just over three minutes left in the half as a Darrell Arthur jumper made it 45-45.

The Nets, though, scored the final nine points of the half to take a 54-45 lead into the break, and held a 63-47 lead just two minutes into the second half after Williams hit a jumper.

Brooklyn eventually took a 85-69 lead into the fourth quarter, and put the contest out of reach with a 12-2 run that was finished off when Lopez hit a jumper for a 101-75 lead with 5 1/2 minutes to play.
