Anthony Davis deposited 22 points, Austin Rivers supplied 17 and Tyreke Evans added 16 for the Pelicans, who set franchise records for points in a game, points in a half, margin of victory and field goal percentage (66.7). They also tied the franchise mark with 15 3-pointers made.
Ryan Anderson made four of those 3s in his 16-point effort, while Luke Babbitt and Eric Gordon added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
"We played well, shared the ball," said Pelicans coach Monty Williams. "I thought we kept our rhythm with that big lead. I think the ball movement was awesome."
Andrew Wiggins paced the Timberwolves with 20 points and Corey Brewer netted 18 off the bench. Minnesota has lost four straight overall and three in a row in New Orleans.
"I'm at a loss for words," said Timberwolves guard Kevin Martin. "Being a competitor, you don't wish nights like this on anyone."
Davis' jumper at 10:19 of the first put the Pelicans up 9-2 and the margin swelled to 27-9 prior to the four-minute mark. New Orleans went 18-for-24 from the floor over the first 12 minutes and brought a 43-19 edge into the second.
Brewer's layup made it a 19-point game early in the second, but the Pelicans ripped off 16 straight points to grab a 64-29 lead before Zach LaVine ended the drought for Minnesota with a jumper. Davis converted a three-point play with 1.6 seconds left to make it an 80-44 game at the break.
It set a franchise record for highest scoring half in franchise history.
The Pelicans outscored the Timberwolves 38-28 in the third and led by as many as 53 in the fourth en route to the lopsided victory.
