Parker, Spurs rout Wolves
Nov 22, 2014 - 5:44 AM Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tony Parker had 28 points and five assists as the San Antonio Spurs routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 121-92 on Friday night.Danny Green knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, while Kawhi Leonard added 14 for the Spurs, who have won six of their last seven games.
"Our mindset was to be focused from the get-go and make sure we can rest the guys in the second half," Parker said.
Anthony Bennett supplied 20 points off the bench for Minnesota, which has dropped six of its last seven contests.
"They're perimeters are good, Parker had it going," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said.
The Wolves were without guard Kevin Martin, who will be out for an extended period of time after he broke his wrist during Wednesday's win over the New York Knicks.
The Spurs led 29-26 following a quarter of play, but began to pull away in the second quarter.
After Chase Budinger's 3-pointer pulled the Wolves within 41-37, San Antonio embarked on a 13-0 run to seize control.
Green hit consecutive triples to begin the surge and Parker nailed one to cap it and stake the Spurs to a healthy 54-37 cushion late in the opening half.
Minnesota whittled the deficit to 59-48 heading into the break, but the Spurs put the game away in the third.
Leonard put in the final five points during a 9-0 spurt as San Antonio opened up a 72-50 advantage just prior to the midway point of the third.
San Antonio, which outscored the Wolves 32-14 in the third, took a 91-62 spread into the final frame, where it led by as many as 34 en route to the easy victory.

San Antonio held a 54-30 points in the paint advantage ... The Spurs shot 54.8 percent (46-of-84) from the field, while Minnesota finished at 41.1 percent (37-of-90) from the floor.
