Suns end Wizards' 6-game winning streak
Dec 22, 2014 - 5:53 AM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Bledsoe had 17 points and nine rebounds as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Washington Wizards 104-92 on Sunday night.Goran Dragic posted 16 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Markieff Morris tallied 17 points for Phoenix, which has won three straight on the heels of a six-game losing streak.
"The whole second half I thought we just stepped it up a little bit," Bledsoe said.
John Wall recorded 14 points, eight assists, five boards and three steals and Bradley Beal added 14 points and seven boards for the Wizards, who had their six-game winning streak snapped.
"They outworked us, they outphysicaled us all game long," Washington coach Randy Whittman said.
The game was tied 50-50 at the break, but the Suns used a 12-3 run to establish a double-digit lead. Morris put in the first four points of the surge, which was capped on Goran Dragic's runner for a 67-57 cushion midway through the frame.
Phoenix took a 79-71 advantage into the fourth.
Paul Pierce drove in for a layup with 2:40 left to get the Wizards within 95-89 with 2:40 left, but the Suns ripped off the next eight points to put the game away. Bledsoe concluded the burst with a three-point play for a 103-89 margin with 1:01 to go.
Beal and Kris Humphries each netted four early points as the Wizards raced out to a 15-7 start, but an ensuinig 7-0 Phoenix spurt pulled it within a point.
Washington led 23-22 following a quarter of play.
Marcus Morris finished off a 10-3 swing during the middle stages of the second with a jumper as the Suns opened up a 44-36 spread. Washington, though, answered with a 12-4 flurry to knot the contest at 48-48 late in the opening half.

The Suns are 9-6 against Eastern Conference teams ... The Wizards fell to 13-3 at home this year ... Phoenix shot 51.3 percent (40-of-78) from the floor, while Washington was just 3-of-14 from beyond the arc ... The Suns held a 42-34 points in the paint advantage.
