Bibby, Kings rout hapless 76ers

Dec 28, 2006 - 6:43 AM SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Mike Bibby kept the Philadelphia 76ers reeling.

Bibby scored 21 points and Kevin Martin added 18 as the Sacramento Kings used a balanced attack to post a 101-76 victory over the 76ers.

Brad Miller collected 13 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Kings, who shot 49 percent (38-of-77) from the field and used five double-figure scorers to cruise to an easy victory.

"Once you move the basketball, it's going to get the defense moving and gets guys open shots," Sacramento forward Corliss Williamson said. "They're more in their rhythm catching the ball on the move."

"Everybody deserves to touch the ball on this team," Martin said. "Anytime you have 20-plus assists, it's good, especially with the players we have."

After losing 12 straight contests, Philadelphia had won back-to-back games, but have suffered a rude awakening in their past two contests. On Wednesday, the Sixers lost, 116-97, at Golden State. One night later, they were blown out again.

"We have two losses in a row. We have to try and get back on track somehow," Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala said. "What we are doing now isn't working, so we have to try something else. Everyone is trying to do their best to figure things out. It's just not happening for us. Things aren't going the way we expect. I think we're just lost out there."

Chris Webber, who scored just four points, is not happy with his playing time.

"We're (7-21), it's a lot more than sluggish," Webber said. "You've just got to try to figure out a way to figure it out. Twenty-six minutes is not a lot of minutes for me. (On Wednesday), only 13. I really don't know what's going on."

Bibby shot 9-of-15 from the field and dished out six assists. He attacked the paint easily and was able to pick apart a porous Philadelphia defense.

"I just told myself I'm not going to sit back anymore," Bibby said. "I'm going to be as aggressive as I can, try to make things happen, try to get my shot and try to get shots for other people. My shot was going in so hopefully it's back."

Sacramento took control of the game in the first half. Leading by just two points after the first quarter, the Kings outscored the Sixers, 25-14, in the second period and were never threatened the rest of the way.

Iguodala scored 15 points for Philadelphia, which shot just 39 percent (29-of-73).
