James, Marshall help Cavaliers stop Bucks
Dec 30, 2006 - 7:43 AM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- When LeBron James sees the Milwaukee Bucks, his eyes light up.James scored 32 points and Donyell Marshall added 29 and 10 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers recorded a 109-99 victory over the Bucks.
Larry Hughes scored 26 points and Drew Gooden added 14 and 10 boards for the Cavaliers, who have beaten the Bucks seven straight times at home.
"We have to give a lot of credit to our crowd," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "That electricity helps us whenever there are lulls."
James shot 11-of-21 from the field for his 100th career 30-point game. The superstar has been especially effective against Milwaukee, averaging 30.8 points in 12 games, his second-highest average against any opponent.
"Right now, I'm in a groove," James said. "I've found my groove and I'm back to 'Fourth-quarter James' again."
Marshall was 11-of-15 from the floor and made 7-of-10 from 3-point range for Cleveland, which tied its season high with a third straight win.
"Donyell Marshall played a nice ball game, knocking down seven threes," Brown said. "That was a result of us being aggressive. We played pick-and-roll, looking to drive and attack the rim. If you leave him wide open because you're worried about LeBron James, he's going to knock that shot down."
"I went out before the game and shot the ball well," Marshall added. "I think that carried over to the game."
Michael Redd scored 24 points and Mo Williams added 21 for Milwaukee, which had its six-game winning streak snapped.
"They came out aggressively defensively and we didn't execute like we did the last couple of games," Redd said.
