Nash, Suns open homestand in search of sixth straight win

Jan 7, 2007 - 3:24 PM Golden State (18-17) at Phoenix (24-8) 8:00 pm EST

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns hope to continue their winning ways against a team they have had their way with.

The Suns aim for their sixth straight win Sunday when they open a five-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors.

Since dropping a heartbreaking 101-99 decision at Dallas on December 28, Phoenix has won five straight contests by an average of 12 points.

Nash scored 22 points and dished out four assists to pace Phoenix to an easy 108-80 triumph over the Miami Heat on Friday.

Amare Stoudemire finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Leandro Barbosa scored 18 points for the Suns, who shot 55 percent from 3-point range to improve to 13-3 at home this season.

Phoenix figures to continue rolling here against Golden State, which has won just five times in its last 33 trips here. The Suns have won both meetings with the Warriors this season.

The Warriors look to build off a 108-104 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday. Baron Davis led Golden State with 22 points while Monta Ellis added 20.
