Kings hoping for more success on the road

Jan 12, 2007 - 3:10 PM Sacramento (14-18) at Portland (14-23) 10:00 pm EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - After a poor finish to a five-game homestand, the Sacramento Kings look to get a fresh start on the road when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

The Kings dropped the final three contests of their homestand after winning the first two. On Tuesday, they absorbed a 108-98 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers despite 26 points from Mike Bibby and 24 from Brad Miller.

Bibby is averaging 18.4 points this season but has heated up lately, averaging 31 points in his last three contests.

Portland defeated Sacramento on Saturday, 115-110, but has dropped its three contests since. The Trail Blazers, only 7-11 at home this season, were blown out, 99-74, by the league-leading Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Zach Randolph, who is averaging 23.9 points, led Portland with 21 points. Randolph has scored 46 points in his last two games since being held to only 15 in a 93-90 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday.

Rookie Brandon Roy added 15 points after only shooting 31 percent (4-of-13) from the floor. Roy has connected on 41 percent (82-of-200) of his shots this season.

Offense has been a problem for the Trail Blazers this season. They have averaged just 92 points to rank 27th in the league.
