Nets try to rebound after difficult defeat

Jan 24, 2007 - 5:20 PM New Jersey (20-21) at Golden State (19-23) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Reeling from a tough loss, the New Jersey Nets are finding out life will not be easy without Richard Jefferson.

The Nets look to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat and pick up their first win on their five-game road trip Wednesday when they visit the Golden State Warriors.

New Jersey opened their trip in disappointing fashion Monday, squandering a 20-point lead in an 88-87 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Mikki Moore scored 22 points while Jason Kidd added 18 for the Nets, who could not overcome a poor performance by Vince Carter or the absence of Jefferson, who is out indefinitely while recovering from ankle surgery.

Carter finished with eight points on just 4-of-11 shooting.

The Warriors have dropped six of their last seven games, including Monday's 108-103 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Al Harrington, who arrived in an eight-player trade with the Indiana Pacers last week, led the Warriors with 33 points.
