Duncan, Spurs look to cure road woes against Arenas, Wizards

Feb 7, 2007 - 5:15 PM San Antonio (32-16) at Washington (28-19) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs have not gotten off to a good start on their "Rodeo Road Trip."

The Spurs aim to bounce back from consecutive losses Wednesday when they visit All-Star Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards.

With a rodeo taking place at its home AT&T Center, San Antonio has lost two of the first three contests on its season-high eight-game road trip.

After rallying for an overtime triumph against the Los Angeles Lakers on January 28, the Spurs have lost to Western Conference powerhouses Utah and Phoenix.

One day after dropping a heartbreaker to the Jazz, the Spurs suffered a 103-87 rout to the Suns on Thursday.

Manu Ginobili scored 32 points off the bench and Tony Parker contributed 20 points for San Antonio, who shot just 39 percent from the field.

The Spurs hope to get back on track against the Wizards, who have won three of their last four home meetings with San Antonio.

Washington looks to carry momentum from Monday's 118-108 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics.

All-Star Caron Butler scored a career-high 38 points and Brendan Haywood had a season-high 20 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for Washington, which snapped a two-game skid.

The NBA's second-leading scorer, Arenas was held to 16 points on 4-of-14 shooting.

The Wizards are 19-5 at home this season, the best record in the Eastern Conference and the third-best in the NBA after Dallas (22-3) and Phoenix (20-4).

San Antonio has won 11 of its games last 14 against Washington.
