76ers seek fourth win in five games vs. Clippers

Feb 9, 2007 - 3:46 PM LA Clippers (24-25) at Philadelphia (17-33) 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Allen Iverson may be long gone, but Andre Iguodala is gradually becoming the focal point of the Philadelphia 76ers' offense.

Iguodala tries to lead the 76ers to their eighth victory in 12 games Friday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.

The league-leader in steals (106), Iguodala is expected to make his 215th consecutive start, the NBA's third-longest active streak.

Two of his three career triple doubles have come this season, including last Friday against the Golden State Warriors, when he scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and collected 13 assists in a 102-101 loss.

After setting a career best with 15 assists in Monday's triumph over the New Jersey Nets, Iguodala scored 27 points on 8-of-19 shooting to lead the 76ers in Wednesday's 92-83 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

Playing the fifth contest of a seven-game Eastern road trip, the Clippers have dropped their last three outings and are looking to snap a nine-game drought here since March 10, 1996.

Los Angeles set a season-low in points in Wednesday's 94-77 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Elton Brand scored 21 points and Shaun Livingston added 19 for the Clippers, who were outrebounded, 54-42.

The Clippers are attempting to complete a regular-season sweep of the 76ers after taking the initial encounter in overtime, 103-97, on November 18. Brand scored 33 points while Iverson topped Philadelphia with 29.
