Kings visit Grizzlies in matchup of disappointments

Apr 10, 2007 - 2:48 PM Sacramento (31-45) at Memphis (19-59) 8:00 pm EDT

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings look to snap a four-game road losing streak Tuesday when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies.

It has been a disappointing season for the Kings, who already have been eliminated from playoff contention. They had made the playoffs in each of the last eight campaigns.

One of the reasons the Kings have missed the postseason is their 11-27 road record.

The Kings are coming off Sunday's 112-106 loss to Houston. Kevin Martin scored 24 points to pace the Kings.

Kings guard Mike Bibby is averaging just 10.0 points in his last five games.

Holding the NBA's worst record, the Grizzlies have lost five straight games, allowing 118.0 points during that stretch.

Memphis also has lost four in a row and nine of 10 at home.

However, the Grizzlies have defeated the Kings three straight times, including a 124-117 victory on January 29. Key contributors Mike Miller and Damon Stoudamire both have missed eight straight games.
