Mavs keep Heat scuffling

Nov 28, 2010 - 6:46 AM Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Dirk Nowitzki scored 22 points and pulled down six rebounds, as the Dallas Mavericks continued their recent dominance over the Miami Heat with a 106-95 victory from American Airlines Center.

Caron Butler added 23 points for the Mavericks, who have won 13 in a row and 19 of the past 21 matchups with Miami. Tyson Chandler chipped in with 14 points and 17 rebounds, while Shawn Marion also donated 14 points for the victors.

"It feels great and we feel real good as a team," Butler said. "We have so much more to accomplish and we want to keep this momentum going."

LeBron James finished with 23 points and eight rebounds for the Heat, who have lost four of five. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh each tallied 22 points in defeat.

The Mavericks took a 51-49 edge into the locker room following a tight first two quarters.

Dallas scored the first 13 points of the third to create some distance. Butler tallied seven points during the burst, including a three-pointer for a 64-49 lead with under eight minutes remaining.

Butler's trey and Chandler's slam moments later gave the Mavericks a 73-55 margin with about 5 1/2 minutes to go. It was an 82-66 contest heading to the fourth.

Trailing by 19, 90-71, Miami got back into the game with an 18-4 surge. James Jones and Mario Chalmers bookended the spurt with three-pointers to cut the gap to 94-89 with 4:19 to go.

Nowitzki made a pair of free throws and Butler sank a jumper following a Wade turnover to give Dallas a 98-89 edge with 3 1/2 minutes to play.

Miami never got closer than six the rest of the way.

Dallas has won five in a row...Mavericks center Brendan Haywood, who was suspended by the team for Friday's game at San Antonio, had zero points off the bench...Dallas started a three-game homestand on Saturday...Wade and Bosh grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
