Magic resume road trip in Oakland vs. Warriors

Mar 11, 2011 - 4:10 PM (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic resume a five-game road trip in Oakland Friday when they take on the Golden State Warriors.

The Magic won the opener of their trek in Sacramento on Wednesday when Jameer Nelson scored 12 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, and Orlando outlasted Sacramento, 106-102, at Power Balance Pavilion.

Dwight Howard returned from a one-game suspension and posted 16 points and 15 rebounds to help get Orlando secure its third straight win on the road.

Jason Richardson scored 19 points and Hedo Turkoglu ended with 13, including a game-sealing free throw after Luther Head missed a potential tying three- pointer in the closing seconds.

"It was a win we take poorly," Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy said. "I'm not happy but we got a win so we'll take it and move on."

Howard had missed Monday's loss to Portland after being suspended by the NBA for one game for receiving his league-high 16th technical foul of the season.

The Magic, who will also visit Phoenix, the LA Lakers and Milwaukee on their trek, are now 17-13 as the visitor on the season.

The Warriors, meanwhile, just finished a season-long seven-game road trip with a 2-5 mark after falling in New Jersey, 94-90, on Wednesday. Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Golden State in that one.

David Lee posted a team-high 17 points with 10 caroms while both Dorell Wright and Reggie Williams added 10 points in the loss.

"We have been competitive against teams that have been playing well," Warriors coach Keith Smart said. "It's unfortunate that we didn't get the positive outcomes but we improved on this road trip."

Orlando has won five straight over Golden State and will be attempting to sweep the home-and-home season series tonight for a third straight campaign.
