Bucks hope to keep momentum going vs. Hawks
Jan 23, 2012 - 3:51 PM (Sports Network) - Milwaukee hopes to build on its most impressive win of the season when it hosts an Atlanta team that continues to play surprisingly well without star big man Al Horford. After beginning the season 0-8 away from Bradley Center, the Bucks won their second straight on the road Sunday, topping the talented Miami Heat 91-82. Brandon Jennings scored 23 points, dished out six assists and pulled down six rebounds in that one.
Ersan Ilyasova added 16 points and six boards for the Bucks, who also won in New York two nights earlier to end a three-game skid. Andrew Bogut tallied 13 points and eight rebounds. Stephen Jackson had 10 points off the bench in his return to the lineup after being held out one game due to disciplinary reasons.
"Miami is one of the elite teams in the league, and they are playing great basketball at home," Bogut said. "For us to do what we did tonight was very good."
The Hawks, who are kicking off a five-game road trip tonight, bounced back from a bad loss in Philadelphia to trounce Cleveland, 121-94, at Philips Arena on Saturday.
Joe Johnson finished with 25 points while Jeff Teague and Jannero Pargo both scored 14 points for the Hawks, who improved to 5-1 since losing Horford for three months with a torn pec.
"It's always great to get a win, regardless of who you're playing," Johnson said. "We've just got to try and build on it, try to go out on the road and do the best we can."
Atlanta, which is 4-4 away from home, will also visit San Antonio, Detroit, New Orleans and Toronto on its trek.
The Hawks and Bucks, who are 4-1 at BC this season, split four meetings a year ago with each club winning once on the other's home floor.
